180 Student Ministry

Sunday Nights    ::    6:00-8:00 pm

Students (7th – 12th) gather in the YMC for games, food, worship, teaching, and discussion

       “180” connotes a turnaround…a life change.  That is exactly what the Student Ministry Leadership Team prays and plans for this ministry.  It is our desire to see Sunday Nights as a time where students and their friends come together to begin or to continue experiencing the grace that God offers to us through Jesus Christ.

        6:00 -7:00 pm – All students are together for a time to hangout, enjoy snacks, play games, and worship.

        7:00 -8:00 pm – Jr. High students are in small groups and Sr. High students are in large groups. Jr. High groups are gender-based, guys with guys and girls with girls, and led by our Jr. High youth leaders. They meet in the main church.

        Sr. High remains in the YMC for large group teaching and discussion.  Our teaching series is generally a month long and focuses on relevant topics.

Sunday Morning    ::    9:00 - 10:30 am

Jr. High (7th & 8th) students meet in the YMC. Students in these grades are a part of our Milestone 4 process.  A key component of Milestone 4 and, therefore, a special focus of this class is understanding our identity in Christ.

For the 2014-2015 school year [Sept – April], we are utilizing the Fuel curriculum to help students walk through the major beliefs of the Christian faith.

On Sunday mornings, Sr. High (9th-12th)  students are encouraged to join their friends and leaders in the center front section of the worship service.  On your way in, don't forget to stop by the Coffee Connection.

Home Groups

Sr. High Small Groups

Students (9th – 12th) meet in host homes for gender-based groups led by Sr. High youth leaders.

The essence of Home Groups is to play together and pray together with God’s Word as the center of both.  In order to be in a group, students will need to sign-up at either a student ministry event or by  contacting the student ministry office.

Summer Trips:  The past few summers, students have been on mission trips to Ukraine, NYC, and Philadelphia.  In addition, we have also had trips to Student Life Camp @ Myrtle Beach and a Student Leadership Conference @ Granger, Indiana.

Endless Summerfest:  Mudpit, Food Fight, A CRAZY FUN 200’ waterslide, water games, food & more make up the craziest way ever to celebrate the end of summer!

FALL RETREAT: FBC students  & their friends come together for a weekend at  camp with exciting games, powerful worship and incredible teaching. Year after year numbers of students leave challenged and many have come to faith through this event.

FINALE ::  ALL-NIGHT OUTREACH:  This annual all night outreach event is an amazing adventure for Jr. & Sr. High students & their friends!

Generation Change is an all-new suite of Bible studies designed to lead teens to a better understanding of God, themselves and their money—and how it all works together. In the three different teaching series, students are equipped with biblical principles to BE who God created them to be, DO more with their money, and GO out into the world ready to write their story. Lesson videos with Dave Ramsey and his daughter, Rachel Cruze\, along with engaging hands-on activities, will bring new biblical and financial truths to this generation, making them a generation of change.

This course will be taught by Vicki Luchkiw and Brian Kauffman.

The cost of this 9-week course is $20 and includes all the course materials.

In a world where over three quarters of young people have a smartphone in their pocket, it is easy as a parent to feel overwhelmed by the innate drama and inherent difficulties typical of teens and their technology.

So how can you be proactive about equipping your kids to make good decisions with technology?

This four-week curriculum, RAISING KIDS IN THE DIGITAL AGE, will help you discuss exactly what that looks like in your home. Class begins October 19th and runs through November 9th. The class will meet in rooms 9 & 10 @ 10:45am.

If you did not get a chance to sign-up, no worries. Just make plans to join us!
