This morning is truly a celebration!!!!! We are entering into a week in which as believers in Jesus Christ we are celebrating the way Christ made for us!!!! The band and the choir have set us up this morning to celebrate this week, and not just this week, but every week!
It boils down to faith though! Where does your faith find itself? Is it in God or in others? We are challenged by the words of Matthew 14:22-33 a picture of faith played out before us!
New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Walks on the Water
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear .
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
Faith…”You call me upon the waters, The great unknown where feet may fail, And there I find You in the mystery, In oceans deep my faith will stand, And I will call upon Your name, And keep my eyes above the waves, When oceans rise, My soul will rest in Your embrace, For I am Yours and You are mine.” It is our prayer that you are allowing the Spirit to lead into places of incredible faith!!! And then we are challenged by John 14:12
12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
“The ground began to shake, The stone was rolled away, His perfect love could not be overcome, Now death where is your sting, Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated” THE LAMB HAS OVERCOME!!!
He has overcome and we need to be awakened!!! There is a world right outside our door literally that needs Jesus. These are days of desperation, we live in a broken generation and more than now our FAITH means more than anthems!!!! Be challenged! It is our prayer you will all be challenged to not be ashamed that our God is not dead and He wants to be involved in our lives and the lives of others that God has put you in contact with
